Ms Yeong

Ms. Yeong Lan-Ing obtained her piano and harpsichord degree in pedagogy and performance under the tutelage of Friederike Richter and Sabine Bauer respectively. At the Akademie fuer Tonkunst Darmstadt, Germany, she completed a double major in piano and harpsichord and minor study in flute. She was the soloist for Bach’s 5th Brandenburg Concerto with the Academy’s orchestra and participated in the summer course conducted by Hans Leygraf. She was the academy’s choir accompanist till she graduated. During her stay in Germany, she toured Europe extensively as a soloist and accompanist with the Ensemble Nikolai.

 

She joined the National Institute of Education (NIE) as a research scholar with the Visual and Performing Arts group and received her Masters of Arts in 2002. Since then, she has been actively involved in educating the next generation of musicians. She was a harpsichord tutor with Chinese High School, piano ensemble instructor with Nanyang Junior College and Raffles Junior College. Besides teaching privately, she is also a part-time instrumental tutor at NIE music department.
